Northeast Florida in August is hot. And humid. And it’s typically the same in June, July, September…you get the idea.

So if you want to avoid the frustration of having to find someone to repair/replace your A/C when temperatures are well into the 90s, you may want to consider some preventative maintenance now.

• Clean or replace air filters on a regular basis
• Clean drain lines to be sure they’re free from any blockages or build up of mold/mildew/algae (you are putting about a cup of vinegar in the drain line each month, right?)
• Make sure float switch is working properly
• Clean outdoor unit of any debris in the fins/screen
• Check for any rust or deterioration of outdoor unit(s)
• Make sure refrigerant lines are properly insulated
• Ensure proper refrigerant charge
• Check all electrical connections are secure
• Look for any mold/mildew around interior air handler or at ductwork
• Clean blower components
