Let these apps do some of the heavy lifting on your next move.
There was likely a time in your life when moving meant rounding up a few friends, a truck, some pizza and some beer. If that time has passed for you, or you just value your friends, and your back, a little more, there are a number of apps that can help you coordinate all the details of your next move, from lining up professional movers, to getting the power turned on at your new place.
Here are just a few to consider:
Suddath’s Moving Guru | iOS
Founded and based right here in Jacksonville, Florida, Suddath has grown to become a global moving and logistics company. Their Moving Guru app can help you with tips on selecting a moving company, create a calendar of all your important moving-related tasks/dates, give you pointers on packing and even track your shipment.
Moved | iOS | On the Web
Moved pairs you up with a personal assistant/concierge who helps you with virtually all of your moving to-dos. Your Moved concierge can help you find the right moving company, get your mail forwarded/address changed…they’ll even help you sell, donate or dispose of those things you don’t need to take with you. And it’s free to use…
Unpakt | iOS | On the Web
Unpakt lets you compare moving companies, including prices and reviews, create inventory lists, determine a “price per item” for your move and even contact your selected moving company via the app (or directly, if you prefer).
Evernote, Google Keep, Trello, etc.
If you don’t think you’ll need all the moving-specific features included with the apps above, you can still manage your move old school. Tried and true online to do lists and productivity apps like Evernote, Wunderlist, Trello, Todoist and Google Keep can help you stay on top of all your important moving tasks. Even a simple spreadsheet can help you organize your thoughts, and develop a timeline for your move. The key is to use whatever you’re most comfortable with, while still keeping your move on track.
Is there a moving app that you’ve used and would recommend? If so, tell us about it in the comments.
