Update: Park for free with four or more passengers in your car. If you’re going to The PLAYER’S, it makes sense to carpool. Cars with four or more passengers park free (download your parking voucher in advance). Even if you plan to pay for parking, you must do that in advance, or you will be sent to Will Call on the day(s) of the event, and you’ll pay more.
The Par-3 17 at TPC
If there’s one event that really puts the Jacksonville / Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida area on the world stage, it’s The PLAYER’S Championship in May. Consistently drawing a strong field of top PGA Tour pros to compete for the biggest purse on the tour, The PLAYER’S Championship makes for an exciting weeklong event here in Ponte Vedra Beach.
The Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass is, of course, a great place to see a golf tournament. The par-3 17th hole is, arguably, one of the great golf holes on the tour. Regardless, sitting on the hill overlooking 17 and watching the action is not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
This year, we’re excited to see even more improvements coming to The PLAYER’S Championship. In addition to a bit more air-conditioned space, and some improvements to the bathroom facilities (always a good idea), The PLAYER’S will also be host to some of Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra’s best dining options this year.
If you’re out at The PLAYER’S, and especially if you’re from out of town, keep an eye open on the course for these great food tents:
TacoLu – Look for the brightly colored picnic tables outside the tent of this Jacksonville Beach mainstay
Metro Diner – After Diners, Drive-ins & Dives, they must be getting used to the spotlight
Pele’s Wood Fire Grill – If you haven’t yet been to the restaurant at Park & King St., don’t miss getting a taste at The PLAYER’S
Indochine – Excellent Thai cuisine from Jacksonville’s San Marco area
Food Trucks – Follow @JaxTruckies to see which trucks will be in the food truck court
